About this artwork

This is Caffe Dante, on Macdougal Street in Greenwich Village. The artist was inspired by the light and rectangular patterns of the awning, windows, and tables. The structure of the chairs is very complex, yet when in a line they form a complex horizontal. He was also interested in how the interior is lit so that you can just barely see inside.
