I wanted the scene to tell the story of the waterways of Venice, shares artist Joanie Ford. Usually, this waterway has lots of business. Maybe it's early and passengers are waiting for the fog to lift. Joanie juxtaposed the vivid and detailed gondola against the softly rendered buildings and hazy atmosphere in the background.
