About this artwork

This painting is from a series inspired by Swarup's travel in Bandipur National Park, in the state of Karnataka, India. Once the private hunting ground of the Maharajas of Mysore, the park boasts a small population of Bengal tigers as well as Indian elephants, spotted deer, bison, antelope and numerous other native species. The painting captures the unique beauty of this dry deciduous forest in early spring.
