"Venice is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, with millions of visitors swarming the island city around the year," says Swarup. "But many of us may not be aware that there are also thousands of people who call Venice home. And my memories of Venice will certainly be incomplete without them. This painting captures one of the quiet corners of the city that is less crowded with tourists, and where the locals can be spotted going on with their daily lives."
