About this artwork

Artist Swarup Dandapat presents a view of the Coliseum Theatre and its historic Victorian architecture. He brings to life one of London's few ancient thoroughfares, St. Martin's Lane when the sun comes out after a splash of heavy rain on an early spring day. The grand spire of the elegant St. Martin in the Fields church stands out against the grey sky in the center of the piece. The tower of the famous London Coliseum stands parallel, both bathed in the soft, early evening light.
