About this artwork

Inspired after a trip to The New York Botanical Gardens in the Bronx, artist Onelio Marrero shares a view of a person taking a break on a park bench. The idea of an artist including another artist appeals to Onelio—one that he returns to often. He paints the piece with a rich sense of texture and various vivid colors. His approach features a sensitive interpretation of the effects of light on the multicolored flora and foliage of the gardens.
