Artist Statement

Whether I am painting a piece that takes days or weeks of work to complete or attempting to capture a moment of pure fascination that catches my attention in an alla prima technique, I try to infuse each piece with the visual magic of the moment. Each play of light, each texture, and each movement of a scene can have a captivating effect on me. My aim is to convey as much of that drama as possible. To me, the moment is always bound up in the sense of light.
