About this artwork

The idea for this composition came from a nostalgic place in my mind - freshly clipped heirloom roses straight from the garden carried into the house in a simple woven basket just waiting on the counter to be arranged and adorn my sunny farmhouse kitchen window. I painted this piece from life alla prima style - in one sitting. It is affixed on 1/4 birch and varnished with unfinished sides,
