About this artwork

This is an original oil painting on stretched canvas. It's my interpretation of they myth of Cloris and Zephyrus, where the nymph called Chloris was kissed by the West Wind, Zephyrus, and was turned into Flora. In the Roman religion, Flora was the goddess of the flowering plants. It's 20 x 24 inches and was painted in an indirect manner, meaning it was painted over a period of time allowing each stage to dry and then thin glazes and impasto's were built up in successive layers. It took me roughly a month to complete and is varnished. It's one of my view figurative paintings, where I typically stick to still life.
