About this artwork

This painting is another in a subject series I always return to. Part of my love affair with the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City is watching the serious observers of the museum's collection. The amount of time this man spent in front of this painting made it obvious that he was enthralled with this particular Bonnard interior scene. I could tell he wanted to step closer than the museum allows. The painting is varnished, wired and ready for hanging. The edges are a clean white gesso.
