About this artwork

Melissa photographed the reference photos for these wrens on one of her walks. Bewick's wrens are very hard to photograph since they usually hang out in the middle of the bush! She combined the wrens with photos from another walk along a creek with reflections which made fascinating patterns. In this piece Melissa wanted to show the layers of sticks and leaves and water and a taste of the wildlife which live there. There's a little sparkle from iridescent paint.
