About this artwork

Sanderlings feed by probing the wet sand for food as waves recede. I’ve painted these ones in the midst of it, with the warm colors characteristic of a bright sunny day. They’ll be in this position for a second or two, then go running off as fast as their legs can carry them, looking for the next morsel.
