About this artwork

White’s Ferry is a river-crossing ferry that dates back to the early 1800s. While crossing the Potomac late one afternoon, I snapped a few reference photos and then set out to paint a piece that would communicate the wonderful calm and the sensation of floating in the middle of the river. This piece was painted on 300lb Arches cotton rag watercolor paper.
