About this artwork

Artist Onelio Marrero paints an impressionist scene of a man painting under a makeshift structure of fallen trees. The idyllic shelter shades him from the sun. He draws inspiration from one of his walks along an area of wetland running along a river. Wildflowers and Japanese Knotweed envelop the tender landscape. The rich variety of greens, loose brushwork, and bold impasto make this painting a sensory delight.
