About this artwork

Snuck out of an event in the old town of Pasadena. Wondering around in unaccustomed formal attire on a late Sunday afternoon with the feeling that something is about to happen. Then turned a corner at random: an old violin shop in a classic old Spanish building in that Southern California light of a late afternoon. I go there sometimes just for that. The row of shops looks like it was build in the mid 1920s during one of the Los Angeles expansions. But the shop looks much newer. Maybe opened in the mid 1960s. Compared to the building, they're just starting out.
