About this artwork

In this classically styled still life, Jesse uses the opportunity to ruminate on colors he more frequently employs in describing a sunset. Deeply dyed fabric, a sturdy pumpkin leftover from the fall's revelry and showy chrysanthemums stand in for cerulean sky and the fiery orange of clouds at the close of day.
