Krzysztof says this intimate painting depicts a poor grandmother selling her small items on a blanket, a common sight in marketplaces. She sits patiently on a small box, with items of little use, included a cassette tape and one ping pong paddle. The watch, set to 11 o'clock, may further reference the character's age and situation. An endearing and emotionally evocative work.
