About this artwork

Artist Lisa Elley paints a close up view of theshores on San Francisco Bay. She often takes drives in the area and paints en plein air right on the famously rugged beach. Lisa captures the critical moment the surfers wait for the wave to hit. She features a beautiful coastal color palette applied with palette knives for thick impasto.
