About this artwork
While camping on Ocracoke in 2004, the island was threatened by a hurricane. The storm was on track to hit the island sometime in the early morning hours. It was an uneasy night in my tent not knowing what to expect when the morning came. I awoke and saw this eery sight at dawn. Fortunately, the storm veered away from the island at the last minute.
