About this artwork

I've painted this scene a couple of times before. There a lots of dead pines facing the channel that separates the coast of Maine from Grand Manan Island, except in this instance, the circumstances are impossible. A sunset over the ocean couldn't happen here since we're facing east. Doesn't matter. I like the way the branches reach out into space like brittle old fingers.
