About this artwork
Selah is a word of uncertain meaning, but indicates stillness and contemplation. Like my works, Selah creates a paradox. My paintings are prayers. Prayers voicing doubt and adversity, but paradoxically, callings of stillness for the hope that ‘awaits for the appointed time; it hastens towards the end and will not fail. Though it lingers, we must for it; for it will certainly come, and will not delay.’
