About this artwork

Captures the essence of a summer day. Dramatic clouds arch above an expansive river view. On one side looming cliffs are obscured in shadow and on the other a sand bar and distant trees are drenched in sunlight.Interesting vegetation floats on the water in the foreground.The location is a bird sanctuary on the Columbia River, accessible only by boat. A first layer of molding paste applied with a putty knife creates texture under the loose, impressionistic brushwork of the painted surface.
