About this artwork
Paintings are spiritual outpourings, says artist Mandy Main. She creates an atmospheric and dreamy landscape in a pastel palette. The view shows a loosely rendered river meandering in the foreground between fields of teal, green, and purple. An undefined blue and purple mountain sits on the horizon merging into vanilla-toned clouds. Airy, creamy wisps lift up into the turquoise sky giving an overall easygoing, joyful vibe. She combines oil paint with cold wax applied with knives and spatulas and uses soft brushes for blending.
