About this artwork

Artist Nick Savides offers a view of East 6th Street at First Avenue in the East Village of New York City. There is a mural by Aida Miro of Ganesha, Hindu god of beginnings, partially obstructed by graffiti, says Nick. While the message 'rise by lifting others' is written over that. The bright blue of the wall provides a sky-like background, with windows and fire escape appearing to float above.
