About this artwork

This painting is imaginary, but was composed of various elements taken from actual places. The window is from a 18th century stone house in Gettysburg, PA, the flowers from a bouquet picked in Lubec, ME and the scene in the background is a view of Campobello Island seen from across the channel in Lubec. Someone in Lubec might very well have a view like this, but I didn't paint it there. I guess it represents many things that attract me as an artist: light, nature, the sea and a feeling of something from the past...of something from a childhood memory that has been lost.
