About this artwork

In 2023, artist Onelio Marrero began a series of oil sketches featuring men painting buildings high above city sidewalks. Inspired by one, this piece captures a worker adjusting his climbing gear, with paint buckets hoisted at his sides. Onelio’s fluid brushstrokes reveal the interplay of shadows and the abstract patterns left by the paint roller.
