The unfolding landscape moves through fields and trees which appear realistic but are really only suggested with loose brushstrokes, giving a fresh, dynamic quality to a historic genre, explains artist Mandy Main. She applied layers of glazes to build up a glowing sky. A palette of oranges, golds, and yellows with a variety of green tones that are greyed down in the distance create atmospheric perspective and emphasize depth.
