About this artwork

Using a customary Japanese background color palette of sienna gold while applying delicate brushwork, Mary created a contemporary rendering depicting a traditional geisha carrying a parasol. I painted thin layers of harmonious but contrasting hue to give the underpainting an old world look, followed by illustrative linework and pops of orange color.The work is wired to hang.
