About this artwork

A young maiko - a geisha in training - strolls in an abstract landscape, her delicate face decorated in traditional makeup. The organic patterning surrounding the figure accentuates her flowing garments, as a pink sunset dips below the low horizon. "I imagined creative energy and moved the paint accordingly," says Mary.
