About this artwork

A copper fox silhouettes a tree lined field in early evening along the foothills of the Sandia mountains, NM. To prepare the canvas, Tara used a magenta acrylic color, and layered swatches of a rich maroon collage paper with marbleized gold swirls. When the initial layers were sealed with archival medium, she applied gestural strokes of oil paint to convey trees and sky, retaining the gold swirls of the paper. The purple of the background wraps around the canvas sides.
