About this artwork
I went on a-month-long painting trip to France recently, thanks to the kind hospitality of a friend there. Honfleur was one of the places that most captivated me. No wonder my favorite Claude Monet loved to paint here: the harbor with beautiful boats surrounded by colorful historic buildings, the inviting cafes filled with happy chatting people. As it was getting darker and the colors faded, the boats, the lights, the pink clouds, and their reflections became the main characters of the scene. I painted a larger painting in my studio based on a small study and my memories of this special place. The sides of this painting are finished, and it is wired, ready to hang.
