About this artwork

This painting was inspired by the aerial view of the pedestrians walking below from my hotel balcony in Paris. My intention is to inspire the viewer to appreciate the beauty and intensity of the seemingly insignificant moment, to slow down from the usual frenetic pace of modern life and develop empathy for the multitudes. Stylistically, I have developed a contemporary variation on traditional Impressionistic figure painting by deriving my signature style from the motion in the original digital video reference. The expressive, textured surface of this piece is protected from dust, smoke and UV by a satin varnish to ensure that this painting will provide enjoyment for generations. With finished 1.5 edges and wired on the back, this painting is ready to hang.
