About this artwork
This is one of my more whimsical paintings of a mother and kid goat, with three white geese floating away in balloon behind them. This patchwork farm scene, with a muted pastel sky, and old farmstead in the distance, is from my imagination. I had fun working on the idea and creation of this piece. It is done in oil on stretched canvas. I work in both oil and acrylic paint for my county landscapes, with oil being less common for them. I find myself impatient with oils, as my ideas for the paintings progression, often come quicker than the layers dry for me. Since I paint in a series of many layers, to create my original, country landscape paintings, I most often work in acrylic instead. I love the smell and creamy feel of oil paint when working in it though. The gallery wrapped, sides of this 3/4 inch deep, stretched canvas are painted to match, and this piece comes wired and ready to hang!
