About this artwork
Trees are the guardians of life and history unfolds beneath their branches, states artist Brit J Oie. My great grandmother planted some Beech trees that I climbed in as a child. I never met her, but I think I felt her presence under those trees. There would be some interesting stories to hear if only we could understand the language of trees. The highly textured surface is created by a combination of embossed papers and layering of acrylic paint.
