About this artwork

Wouldn't we all like to be privy to Alistair's tale? He looks like he's got a story to tell. He charms his buddies with clever anecdotes. He is enigmatic, handsome, and well spoken. He invites you into his circle of cronies to share a burnt mallow or two and some good old fashioned camaraderie. Please, do pull up some debris and join the fun.

This was my first attempt at a mixed media 'bot piece and it was a jolly good time! The paper collage process is always a lot of fun but glazing over it all with oils to create just the right glow from the fire and just the right campfire mood lighting was a new and thrilling experience. I shall be repeating it.

This piece is hand-cut and torn paper adhered to cradled plywood panel with matte medium then glazed with oil paint. The sides are finished with the torn, yellowed pages of a novel. The work comes wired and ready to hang.
