About this artwork

Artist Diane Flick presents a glimpse into someone else's image of utopia. Colonel Picklebottom's otherworldly dream persists only to exist, says Diane. In this whimsical scene, an egret sporting a stylish blue hat stands on an anvil atop a raspberry-cream cake. Draping blue and red cloth painted with delicate clouds adorns the background. This is simply her idea of the most exquisite state of body and soul, the zenith of rapture, the ultimate joy, and, of course, a jolly good time.
