About this artwork

Artist Drew McSherry created this piece to represent hisconflicted view of Catholicism. The figure is dressed in the elegant gown of a pope but its facial features represent a figure of evil, states Drew. I want this image to represent the dichotomy that has existed within Catholicism throughout the ages. Catholicism has helped countless people while at the same has been used to oppress.
