About this artwork

This beautiful, abandoned building was located on the edge of Barrio Amon in San Jose, Costa Rica. Rumor had it that it had been built by a man who made a fortune in bananas and lost everything when a banana blight killed most of the trees he owned. He lived opulently until his money ran out, then he hung himself in a huge dining room decorated with marble imported from Italy.
