About this artwork

Light filled seascape of a majestic monolithic rock on the ocean's edge. An ethereal pastel sky contrasts with the looming shape of the rock itself which is defined by dark shadows and fiery highlights. The rock and sky are reflected in the foreground where the water laps onto the sand, creating a lacy pattern which stands as an essential element of the composition, guiding the eye up to the illuminated horizon and then to the rock.
