About this artwork

Saltwater is a part of Laura Browning's current Water series, in which she strives to capture the feeling of being in water. I was inspired to paint this piece after watching the glowing light and mesmerizing patterning of refracted sunlight in my backyard pool, Laura says. I am continually inspired by the natural beauty and ever-changing nature of water. This painting was created using many thin layers of transparent oil glazes, giving the piece great depth and luminosity.
