About this artwork

Artist Pat Doherty depicts a slice of raspberry mousse pie, drizzled in raspberry sauce. The pie is topped with whipped cream, blueberries, and mint. Pat's oil paintings draw on her experience as a former commercial art director and designer. She seeks out subjects at farmer's markets and bakeries and returns to her studio to simplify the details into bright, graphic arrangements. I take time to balance the elements in my compositions and establish good color relationships between light and shadow.
