About this artwork

Although I live in Texas, I am well acquainted with the gorgeous mussels harvested along the Eastern Seaboard in the US and Canada. The exquisite deep purple and blue shells contain delectable gems of food within. Since I can only find frozen bags of mussels here (and the fresh mussels that occasionally appear in the supermarket are generally of suspect age and origin), I will occasionally order them from the East Coast and have them flown overnight to my front door. They are well worth the the financial splurge!
