About this artwork

Artist Shela Goodman paints a silhouette of a man in his boat, floating peacefully on a bright still lake. With his motor engine up and rope in his hands, he appears to be preparing for an early morning of fishing. Shela takes reference from a photo taken by her friend, who is a Texas park ranger. She translates the misty fog into a mesmerizing haze of calm.
