About this artwork
Janus was the Roman god of beginnings, transitions, and endings,, usually depicted with two faces, one looking to the future and one looking to the past. As I look to make some exciting, and potentially scary, changes in my life, I was inspired by Janus. Here he takes the form of a goddess, and instead of two faces she has many, reflecting the varied, often conflicting feelings that come along with great change. Also traditionally associated with the dawn, my Janus moves forward through sun-splashed clouds, ready to face a new beginning. This painting comes gallery-wrapped and wired to easy hanging!
