About this artwork

Part of David Shepherd's latest series of hyperrealist paintings focusing on women's faces. A sensual portrait rendered in extremely precise painting. Among other concepts, the work features symbols of power, fashion, beauty and sex. However, David intends for each viewer to have their own opinion of the symbolic meaning. A lot of people feel like it's seductive, and I do acknowledge that there is some of that, but it wasn't my main focus, says David. I wanted to feel movement from the painting, it's so close and and so real the movement brings you in and creates emotion and action, along with color and form.
