About this artwork

A slice of grasshopper in a chocolate cookie pie crust, drizzled with chocolate and topped with blueberries and mint. Artist Pat Doherty's oil paintings draw on her experience as a former commercial art director and designer. I seek out my subjects at farmer's markets and bakeries and then return to my studio to simplify the details into bright, graphic arrangements, shares Pat. I take time to balance the elements in my compositions and establish good color relationships between light and shadow.
