About this artwork

Artist Judy Mackey paints an impressionist still life of a bright red daisy in a vase. I happened on a Gerber Daisy that had a broken stem so I brought it indoors and decided to paint it, shares Judy. Bold red petals, painted in brisk strokes, pop against the muted tones in the background. The palette knife application adds texture and depth to the lively piece.
