About this artwork

The sun descends – down to the horizon- leaving us for another day. A glow behind tree provides backlight of warm transparent gold. I began this painting with an orange- red underpainting. Then layer upon layer of thick oil paint allowing some of the warm to glow through. A classic view of the water as I stand on a hill, looking to the distant hills past the stands of evergreen. All the colors of grasses dance in the late day light.
