About this artwork

“A distant snow covered island divides this quiet river. The water way runs through ground claimed by the Native American Blackhawk tribe. Warm burgundy and brown colors belie the minus zero degree temperature. Ice is forming near the shore line and bare oak trees cast their shadows across the snow. It’s January, sometimes known as the Yule or Wolf Moon.” This painting is varnished, wired and ready to hang. The sides are finished with a continuation of the image.
