Keeping to a limited palette does not necessarily mean limited! It becomes an exciting challenge to choose only a few colors to explore wet-on-wet. Payne's Grey, Burnt Sienna, Indian Yellow and Titanium White. The push and pull through a sense of space belies the small scale of this piece. Loads of texture help me to think BIG too. This piece is on cradled panel, oil+cold wax medium on a pre-textured surface. I am VERY EXCITED to now explore Venetian Plaster as my substrate texture which imparts a subtle luster throughout.
